Here’s the multiplayer session of the PC version of the game, allowing up to 2 players for a coorperative jam. If he had stayed on, we might have PSVR multiplayer still on the roadmap, but alas it wasn’t in the cards. If we didn’t have him honesty there wouldn’t have been any multiplayer at all, so we should feel a bit lucky. Another factor, to be perfectly frank, is that our crackerjack Unity multiplayer programmer left like 6 months ago. So, IF that happens and IF there is enough demand, we MIGHT be able to consider it in the future (which I honesty really want to do). HOWEVER, we are talking to the Photon Bolt guys now and they are working toward PlayStation support. Electronauts harnesses the power of VR to go inside of a song and feel completely in. Then, once we added PSVR support, Photon Bolt didn’t support PlayStation, so we were SOL unless we implemented a whole different middleware. A virtual reality music creation tool designed for music lovers and creators of all ability levels, Electronauts plunges users into a surreal sonic experience where they can remix, compose, jam, and perform on uniquely designed electronic instruments. Also, we chose Photon Bolt as our multiplayer middleware, back when we weren’t planning to do PSVR. Keep in mind that this is or FIRST Unity project, so we can’t build onto the Sprint Vector multiplayer tech, for example. Multiplayer development is very hard on PC, but console multiplayer takes it up a level. This project is so ambitious that we’re barely getting it out the door as it is. It’s so easy to get into the groove as you remix songs in virtual reality, and while you probably won’t recognise a lot of the artists included, the songs are solid and easy to manipulate. There is no PSVR multiplayer at this time. Electronauts’ slickly presented, highly interactive sound stage makes for a thoroughly entertaining musical application. Hey guys! Electronauts project lead here. Today, the project lead brings to reddit to elaborate the situation: Electronauts sets the stage for you to DJ, perform, and make music magic in virtual reality. Create songs, crush sets, and express yourself like never before. Immerse yourself in an interactive sonic environment where you build, drop, remix, and jam with your friends and top artists. Eagle-eye fans should have noticed that PSVR is being left out, as it lack both of these features (multiplayer and crossplay). Electronauts is set to be releasing on multiple VR platforms for a variety of VR headsets in less than a week from now, and Survios (developer of Raw Data and Sprint Vecto) has confirmed that there will be multiplayer and crossplay across all supported PC-based VR in this music creation tool.
